Free Carer Education - Building Confidence and Support
Caring for a family member or friend can be both rewarding and challenging. Whether you’re supporting an elderly parent, a partner, or someone with health concerns, it can take a toll physically and emotionally.
Our Practical Skills for Caregivers workshop is designed to support carers with practical skills, hands-on guidance, and emotional awareness to help you feel more confident in your caring role. These small-group sessions also give carers a chance to connect with others who understand the journey.
What you’ll learn
- Preventing and managing pressure sores
- How to provide a safe and dignified bed bath
- Personal care techniques
- Basic medication management and tips
- What local services and supports are available
- Coping with stress and looking after yourself
- Understanding changes in relationships and roles
- Connecting with other carers in a safe, supportive space
Why this workshop matters
These workshops have been shaped by feedback from local carers. Many have told us they feel isolated, overwhelmed, or unsure about practical aspects of providing care. Others expressed the need for connection with people going through similar challenges.
By attending, carers gain not only practical skills and knowledge but also reassurance, confidence, and support to navigate the challenges of caregiving.
